Employee Benefits

Medical Plans
Two medical plan options are offered through the SC Employee Insurance Program (EIP).  One is the Standard Plan and the other is the Savings Plan.  The main difference between the plans is the amount you will pay for deductibles, co-payments for office and emergency care visits, and co-insurance (your share of the cost for healthcare services).

Dental Plans
Two plans are available:  State Dental Plan and Dental Plus.  BJHCHS Inc pays for the State Dental Plan for active employees only.  State Dental plan offers diagnostic and preventive, basic, prosthodontics and orthodontics.  The Dental Plus Plan covers the same but the allowance is higher and does not cover orthodontics.

Vision Benefits
This benefit is included with all of the available medical plans.

Money Plus Accounts Even the most comprehensive benefits program cannot cover every expense. Money Plus enables you to set aside pre-tax dollars for certain benefit-related expenses, including co-payments, vision care, dental care, medical equipment, and daycare costs. Contributions are deducted from each paycheck before taxes are taken out, allowing you to save for healthcare costs while reducing your taxable income.

Optional Life
EIP provides $3000.00 optional life for full-time employees who are enrolled in one of the medical plans.  Dependent and spouse life insurance is designed to help you and your family handle unexpected expenses as a result of an untimely loss of your spouse or child. Coverage must be elected and coverage is paid for by the employee.
